The Working Assembly
3 min readMar 5, 2021

This week, we’re hungry. Maybe we didn’t have enough snacks on hand. Please reply with a recipe or restaurant suggestion.

You look delicious

I know, I know…we’ve been waiting for Chipotle to drop a collab with a cosmetics brand for like, years now too. The eyeshadow palette features colors inspired by real ingredients you can add to your burrito bowl. This is not a joke. This is fun. This is advertising. This is the future. What fast casual restaurant chain would you like to put on your face next?

Don’t cookbook

The perfect gift for your friends who don’t cook (and everyone else who’s tired of it) has arrived. The whimsically illustrated Don’t Cookbook by Postmates is an ode to the food you can have delivered, and comes with activity pages to keep you busy while you wait for your food to arrive.

Feta pasta overload

TikTok is changing social media and making it impossible to find feta cheese. The visual platform is perfect for the rise of viral recipes, and even the NY Times is now forced to cover the effect of TikTok on cheese suppliers when every homecook rushes to cook the same thing. It does look pretty good, just avoid the alternative recipes that suggest cream cheese.

Food masks

It’s such a silly idea. To make something that we all see every day as a reminder of our isolation and turn it into something we can look at and get a chuckle out of. The serious headshot style of each post is what gets me, though. Such a fun Instagram account for some much needed light-hearted content.

How do you eat a banana?

It’s as if the conversation around how to eat a banana is taboo. Nobody talks about it, posts about it, or writes about it. How is it done?! Refinery29 dives into the discussion that no one wants to have, and the findings are bananas.
